3 out of 5 stars Was expecting more.    July 20, 2002

First off...this is a good film...I was just expecting more.

More what??? More footage...it's relatively short. More content...it's ho-hum. More umph...it's tame.

The scenery is beautiful. The video is clear and crisp.

I found it difficult to keep up with which location they were boating while I was viewing the DVD. Perhaps a little naration would have helped.

I am a novice whitewater enthusiast (so those more experienced may disagree), but the stuff they were playing on only gave me a "hey...wow...look at that ..." a couple of times.

It's good...I was just expecting more.

Great action, high quality picture, spectacular footage. Could have substituted some of the hippie stuff for more paddling action. I can go to the park and watch people meditate and play footbag for free. Overall Nurpu is an extremely well done film with fairly continuous action coupled with a good soundtrack.

A great movie for anyone who enjoys outdoor activities. This movie is made quite well. I only spotted one editing snafu. I was amazed, as you will be, by the camera shots and the skill of the kayakers in this movie. The movie shows what serious whitewater kayaking is all about. I own a couple ski movies and one bike movie, and Nurpu was a great addition to my library. Bottom line-beautiful surroundings, great athletes, and good cinematography add up to an amazing movie.
