4 out of 5 stars You'd have to be black to follow this humor    November 27, 2008

It was a decent movie with quite a few laughs. Of course something like this would never happen in real life (a sexy woman comes on to a black man and he refuses [?!?!]), but it was interesting to see the treatment of how something like this *might* have gone down if it actually happened in real life.

3 out of 5 stars Chris Rock's first movie, which we can try to take seriously    September 18, 2008
Lynton Ferris (Houston Memo)
In this relatively unnoticed comedy about family (not necessarily for family in this case) life and the problems that many may face when the lust and thrill in a relationship goes stale, The sometimes halarious Chris Rock goes to work in his first feature film. Chris Rock stars as a succesful businessman in Manhatten, with a wonderful wife and two cute children. What went wrong? The love in the marriage was fading and life for him is clearly not the fun crazy life that it was in his early days.
Then an old yet still young lady friend bumps into him and the cherished days seem tangible, and what do you know, she's still in the game. Entranced by her sexiness and livliness. What is Chris to do? Well, I'll tell you that this is a refreshing imprint on the smoky times that comedy is going through, and is worth a look, maybe even a peak.

3 out of 5 stars I can't believe it    September 7, 2008

Despite being a horrible script and witnessing the worst acting I've seen in years, this movie still pulled off to be quite charming. I don't know why, I was quite prepared to hate this movie. Still, I caught myself smiling. Check it out for yourself.

4 out of 5 stars What's in a title?    August 3, 2008
Kawika (San Diego, CA United States)
I wonder why this movie wasn't more successful. I think that if the title was narrowed down to something a bit shorter that wouldn't take the complete DVD cover when translated into German might've been a better idea. A title centered on Kerry Washington, who plays Nikki -- the goddess/seductress and menace/heroine in Richard's (Chris Rock) boring life. How about Lingerie Wars or Tempted by Lust? Better yet: Maneater. That'll get people to see the movie, not Chris Rock. And that's just too bad, because C. Rock did a great job with this movie. I don't know if people are wary of his stand-up language, but the language is definitely not at the same level in this movie. While I didn't laugh hysterically throughout, I thought Chris nailed the role of a bored and frustrated husband with children, where he didn't appreciate what he really had -- a beautiful family. The temptations of a successful businessman (key word man) with the ultimate chick magnet (a wedding ring). I also thought this film nailed the direction a man's mind goes when he sees a beautiful woman. But it's not just the sexual tension, it's the boredom: Nikki is fun! Is he going to go for it? Is the grass greener on the other side, or is it even being watered? If you're married, divorced, or plan to be married...watch this movie. It's great.

5 out of 5 stars funny, realistic and insightful !!    June 28, 2008

I loved the movie! Chris Rock did a great job directing it. It was funny especially the viagra scene, everytime I watch it i laugh till I can't laugh no more!! It's so easy to relate to his character; although I'm female. Kerry Washington as nikki did a fantastic job!! charming sexy mischevious...just fun!! And of course Mr.Rock was funny as always but he didn't overdo it which sometimes comedians tend to do in their movies. It was perfect and i will recommend it to all my friends.
