Great dvd
January 5, 2009S. Ramchandani
I enjoyed my journey to Italy & France with 'Samantha Brown' mainly beacause of the host, In my opinion there is no host like Samantha..she lights up the screen with her presence & makes even the most ordinary places look great..Even if you are watching these shows by youself, she will transport you right to those locations. The background music, the hotels, the landscapes are simply wonderful..someone truly said "Heaven is a Place on earth".
Lots of cuteness, but very little real information or depth

This is a series that is big on cuteness, but there is very, very little in the way of actual video or discussion of the cities being visited. Must each scene end with a big smile and a joke? If you monitor the actual time spent on showing you around each city, you will be very surprised. If you are looking for a light, shallow, cute show in which the host is the center of interest instead of the incredible places she visits, then this is for you. Very disappointing! Even the Rick Steves shows are very superior to this series.
Fun but not too much substance there
December 11, 2008blankcb26 (TX)
My only complaint about this dvd is that it really doesn't have very much substance to it. It is just a fun travel dvd with only backgrounds on very few places. If you are looking for an in depth look at France and Italy then this probably isn't for you, but if you are looking for a travel dvd with an entertaining host that can show you some of the places these countries have to offer, then look no further.
Crystal clear travel

We enjoy all of Sam's travels and this one on a flat screen tv with upconverable DVD player is real eye candy.
A feel for Paris
October 9, 2008E. Buenrostro (CA,USA)
If its your first time in Paris and want to get a good feel of whats to come this is a great video to get. It takes you to some popular tourist spots you will probably want to visit and it also gives you some helpful tips on the culture.
