This is a great volume to buy, all four movies are great and ready for riffing. I haven't seen Boggy Creek II since the series stopped showing on Scifi Channel. I had forgotten how funny the movie was and wasn't disappointed after I watched this DVD. Every movie on here was great. My personal favorites were Merlin's Shop and The Touch of Satans, two of my favorite Mike episodes (but not my absolute favorites). As a special feature, they have a lengthy interview with Kevin Murphy and Mike Nelson. It is very interesting and something every fan will want to hear. Overall, this is a great DVD and has one great interview as an extra. Pick it up!

I have to say, as a MST3K fan, it doesn't get any better than these four episodes. I have seen a good amount of them, but the four here are my favorites.

Legend of Boggy Creek 2: The gang gets to make fun of the south, which never disappoints.
favorite riff: the entire scene in the Jeep when they go from the city to the swamps and the general store scene and old man crenshaw.

Merlin's Shop of Mystical Wonders: About four different (and equally bad) stories pieced together... this fact does not escape mike and the bots
favorite riff: "Merlin was a thieving crackhead who fenced VCRs to feed his habit." (by crow, when the movie leads you to expect to see Merlin and instead you get a burglar with a sweet mullet.

Time Chasers: Probably my favorite episode. A physics professor uses a 1-propeller plane, eight 5 1/4" floppy disks and an old computer to travel through time.
favorite riff: As the scene in the food court (of the future!) ends, and the movie leads you to believe they are coming back to the present, one of the characters just walks swiftly out of frame and Mike voices him: "I'll just walk back to the past!"

A Touch of Satan: The gang abuses this tale of murderous witches quite well, between extremely long in-dialogue pauses and the "Zah!"-yelling protagonist, they have plenty of material.
favorite riff: As the 100+ year old grandma absolutely busts through a closed door, splintering it to pieces, we hear "Snap into a Slim-Jim!"

Buy this volume, its worth the money, even (especially) for newbies.

Caution, do not smoke illegal substances while viewing, you will laugh so hard that your body will hurt and tears will come out of your eyes.

I was a little disappointed with this volume. Good, but not the best. Having said that, I still plan to purchase all of the volumes of MST3K.

If you've sat and laughed your way through MST3K on Sci-Fi Channel, then you need this collection! Boggy Creek II is almost worth the price itself! This is quite possibly the "best" horrible movie that they ever poke fun at. Very few people in this movie have ever been in front of a camera before. When you tell your kids, "Yes, we really did dress that way in the 70s!" they won't believe you!! Merlin and Satan are just plain strange. Time Chasers is ultra low budget 70s fare.

-Ah, Mystery Science Theater 3000 one of my favorite shows of all time and certainly one of the three funniest shows I've ever seen.

-Volume 5 includes some of the best from the Sci-Fi channel era, which at times was pretty hit and miss, "The Touch of Satan", "Time Chasers", "Boggy Creek II: And the Legend Continues" and "Merlin's Shop of Mystical Wonders". Each episode features a very funny introduction before the film, by Mike Nelson himself.

-Boggy Creek II: And The Legend Continues: Loved the intro. by Mike. This is about a college professor (Charles Pierce, the director of the film) taking three of his students, two girls and a boy (the boy is Pierce's son Chuck) off on a camping trip to try and discover and maybe even capture the boggy creek creature, which is basically a bigfoot creature. Many funny situtaions follow and not just because of the riffing by Mike and the bots, but because of the poor writing and acting and just about everything else. But this is a great episode, plenty of funny lines by Mike and the bots, a few of them are, Mike's "My wonderful discovery, let's kill it", Crow's comment on Chuck's lack of muscle "Geez, do a push-up kid" and Servo's "And the completely pointless stretch of movie whimpers out like a small dying rat" and their reaction to the professor's line "I saw the little creature". There are many other funny lines and funny reactions to whatever the characters say or do, especially when the professor wears some really short shorts, funny but disturbing. Great stuff here, 10/10.

-Merlin's Shop of Mystical Wonders: Really funny intro by Mike on this one. About Ernest Borgnine telling his grandson a couple of stories, one about a man who gets Merlin's magic book and uses it with serious consequences. The other is about a boy who has an evil toy monkey that kills people everytime his cymbals clash together. The later film is obviously from the 80's and trimmed down to fit the running time, since apparently the first movie wasn't worth a full movie length. Funny lines include, Mike's "Channeling the spirit of a circus freak" as one character spits fire out of his mouth, and his comment on one man being attacked by a cat "So this is like any cat then", then "I got old and roasted the cat with my breath, but I'm fine". Many other funny ones follow and this is one of the funniest episodes ever, the final 10 minutes of the film are pretty funny. 10/10.

-Time Chasers: Great intro by Mike telling how the film makers were big MST3K fans until they saw this episode that is. Not a very good one here, the film that is, it's about a guy who designs a time transport device in his plane and the device catches the eye of an evil corporation who want to, what else use it change the world for the worse. The acting is pretty bad and the film is obviously made on a short budget. I do give props to the cast and crew for trying, but this is too cheap and too poorly acted to be good. Funny lines include Servo's "Sure, I'm an unappealing actor in a bad movie, sure", and his comment on the woman's attire "Oh two different plaids, man I'm a naked robot and even I know that's a fashion no-no", Crow's "No, I'm saying make me dinner", "Let's eat a bicycle that a better idea" and I loved Mike's "You didn't count on the assistant janitor" and "Which way out of the hangar, thank you" as a man motions for emergency vehicles to attend to a crashing plane. There are plenty of others, and most of them are hilarious, the final 15 minutes are especialy a hoot. Great episode overall, 10/10.

-The Touch of Satan: Weird one here, a near 70's movie (made in '68) that's something about a guy who falls for a girl on a farm and discovers she is a 127 year old witch, or something like that and somewhere in here is a really old woman killing people. Loved the lines by Crow "So this family's been pausing for centuries now, it's a tradition", Mike's comment on a cop's body "Huh, from the waist down a woman", when the cop picks a stock of hay "A-ha, I found the murder weapon", the cop's impending death "I have a feeling he's going to lead a long full time". Great lines throughout, though the pauses are a bit annoying at times, from the actors and Mike and the bots, but mostly from the actors. Loved the sequences between the guy and the girl and whenever the old woman is killing people, really funny comments throughout. Great episode here, 10/10.

-The extras include an interview with Mike Nelson and Kevin Murphy discussing the evolution of MST3K from cable access to Sci-Fi and the end as well as what they've both been up to since the show ended. Besides the Mike intros the other extra is the original trailer for "The Touch of Satan".

-Overall a great set of MST3K episodes, well worth it for a good price, $35-40.
