5 out of 5 stars Singing Scrooge    January 8, 2009
Emily D.
I love this version because it is a musical, even Albert Finney manages to croak out a decent melody!I saw this first in the movie theatre with my parents and then grew up watching this over the years. It was along with An American Christmas Carol, my favorite version. I had it for many years on VHS and replaced it with DVD this year. A must see for dark humor and great music!

5 out of 5 stars Scrooge never looked so good.    January 6, 2009

After years of watching Albert Finney on VHS and "Formatted to fit my screen," the wide-screen DVD version was exciting. This is the best version of "A Christmas Carol" ever made. Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Scrooge the Musical    January 6, 2009
Faye Cowderoy (Montreal, Canada)
One day I skipped my classes in high school and went along on a field trip with some other part of the school to see this version of Scrooge. This was back in the early '70's. Although the other kids were not all that impressed, I fell in love with this movie. Even the music has stayed with me all these years. It's a Scrooge version that they NEVER show on television. And I think it's got everything that the other Scrooge movies do, and much more.... I always get choked up at the end as Scrooge (Albert Finney) has his epiphany and gets his freak on with the whole Christmas thing.. It's the only Scrooge movie I care about....
