5 out of 5 stars P90X: the full package   March 11, 2010
Jung Song
this is a great program. it's not easy though. hard work = great results. I don't believe in those "do nothing and get fit" ads, and the P90X is definitely not one of those products. if you want real results, you have to be willing to get off your butt and see what you're made of with the P90X. seriously, this program improves all aspects of an individual's health. just do it.

2 out of 5 stars Not happy with it   March 10, 2010

I brought it from a dealer on amazon and I did'nt get the nutrition guide or exercise planner. I just got the dvds and the package was really beat up. If I had seen a picture of what I was getting before hand I would not have brought it for $80.

It's a great workout, there's lots of variety and help to make sure you are working at your level and it pushes you. There are also workout sheets to help track results.

It has been a great addition to my workouts when I can't make it to the gym. I recommend it to anyone who wants to follow it exclusively or add it to their gym routines.
Tony Horton does a great job at motivating.

4 out of 5 stars This program works   March 8, 2010

This is a home fitness program that works. It offers enough diversity in the workout routines to minimize boredom, options to modify the workouts to increase or decrease intensity, and options to turn off all but the workout cues. You'll need to commit 1-1.5 hours per day, a workout mat, resistance bands or dumb bells and a space that is at least 6 feet by 12 feet.
I was not an ideal candidate for the program. I was overweight and underfit. I am nearly 50 years old with both shoulder and knee issues.
It took me about 160 days to complete the 90-day program. I still choose to skip or modify some of the exercises in the program. I did not use the resources available from the manufacturer's web site and I did not write down the details of the workout to track my progress over time. I started without use of weights (using bands) and migrated to weights as I became stronger. I did not use the weight-loss portion of the program as I was already enrolled in Weight Watchers and comfortable with that program. After completing the program, I am within a few pounds of my ideal weight and I have muscle definition that I haven't had in decades. I am stronger, more flexible and have better balance.
