5 out of 5 stars A must own    December 10, 2008

If you are a fan of Law and Order then you must get this boxset. I liked the plots of all the episodes and it is Lenny Briscoe's final season, which should be enough for any fan of Law and Order. I do wish the final episode was a little better, but it did play into the whole way Law and Order always was and shying away from the personal lives of the characters for most of the episodes throughout its long life. I for one was glad I bought this season and have never regretted it.

5 out of 5 stars Still the greatest series    April 21, 2008
Jack Rice (Southern California, USA)
There are sorehead fans who put this set down because they can't forgive Jesse L. Martin for not being Chris Noth, nor Sam Waterston for not being Michael Moriarty nor Elizabeth Roehm for not being Angie Harmon. These are all fine actors who do a great job in their roles. I loved their predecessors, but I love these, too.

As for the season itself, it may not measure up to someone's favorite season, and so what -- that makes this one mediocre? This fourteenth season has wonderful episodes. "Bodies" has the riveting performance by Ritchie Coster, probably the most chilling perp in L&O history. "Identity" has a poignant story with a wonderful perfomance. There are a couple of ripped-from-the-headlines greats, one which probably gives the fan who caught that fly ball the willies, and the other, about the Japanese tourists, which is still making the news.

Yes, good ol' Fred Thompson makes me miss Steven Hill -- he makes me miss Dianne Wiest! -- but he's good enough. And this fourteenth season of Law & Order is more than good enough and still holds its own beside all other network TV dramas. It remains one of the few TV series for real grown-ups, which, in a medium that panders to infants and idiots, says a lot.

5 out of 5 stars Law & Order    April 6, 2008

OK, I just cannot get enough of the Law & Order series! All three of them rock! (The Original, Special Victims Unit, Criminal Intent) Too bad they got rid of Crime and Punishment and Trial by Jury.

5 out of 5 stars law and Order season 14    February 24, 2008

I love Law and Order and this is a great addition to my collection. I have already watched it more that once. This allows me to not miss the start, or ending due to interuptions due to the phone or weather. I can always go back to where i was. I never tire of the stories.

4 out of 5 stars One of The Better Years of "Current" Law and Order    October 27, 2007
Okay for starters Ive watched law and Order since Angie harmon came on back in 98 even though i was only 5 years old i immeadiatly liked the show, and i have watched law and Order ever since and firstly I would like to point out that As we all know that law and order has faultered greatly in recent years though it is still good but think about everyone says that only the first several years were any good but come on people the show has run for over 17 full years the some episodes are bound to be repeated.
Secondly what is with all of the bashing of Serena Southerland, I mean she was not only the best A.D.A they every (And I'm not saying that because she's blond) had but she was on the longest lasting one two she was on for 3 1/2 years were as Angie Harmon the shows second longest lasting and second best was only on for 3 years. Oh and another thing on the subject someone said joss whedon had some sense when he kicked her of of Angel after that show's first year NEWSFLASH I watched that show when it premiered she was on the first to years and the only reason she wasn't in any of the othhers was because she joined law and order during Angels third year leaving her no time to be on that show.
And the fact that this is Jerry Orbach's final season makes this set a must buy. he played the longest lasting detective in law and order history and although I like jesse l martin as detective green he needs to leave so that he doesn't surpass Jerry Orbach and thats really all i have to say in fact the only reason i wrote this review is so that i could express my OPINION about what lots of other people are saying.
But just to keep my review close to topic this year is a must buy
