Rock is great at most of his material and this one is no different. He has a command of the subject he chooses and is right up there with Richard Pryor in his biting wit.

Though I'd never seen the show, I ordered volume 2 because Chris Rock is the funniest man in the world. I was really disappointed. It's nothing like his stand-up. It's just a not-great sketch show. I laugh more during any given episode of SNL. The taxi cab confessions stuff is pretty good. Not worth owning.

Some people are more suited for sketch comedy while others are better at standup. Chris Rock is definitely a standup comedian. Be forewarned that this is a collection of moments from his HBO show and not a standup set. These sketches are not very funny nor are they original.

I was in for a treat. This was all new Chris Rock for me. And I ate it up. Chris Rock is simply the best comic in a one man show. I don't have cable TV, and if I did, I would never be home to watch it, so with this being my first exposure to the Chris Rock Show, no wonder it is the hit it is. Great work.
